Minutes away from the oasis that is Shewe Wana you will find the many cultural and entertainment highlights of our ancient market town. Studded with hundreds of exquisite Buddhist temples and shrines, Chiang Mai boasts a rich cultural heritage dating back to the 13 th century, preserved in its many museums but also very much alive in the daily rhythms of life and the frequent seasonal festivals. The impressive remains of the old city ramparts and the intact moat are within easy reach. A stroll along the bank of the Ping River, less than a kilometre away, will take you past the string of high quality art and craft shops and galleries which line Charoenrat Rd. Here you can cross the footbridge to take in the blaze of colour on display at the Flower Market. And at night the riverside restaurants and bars hosting live music performances are abuzz with locals and visitors alike. The Night Market and surrounding bars, restaurants and clubs are 5 minutes away by taxi or trishaw. A day trip to some of the many natural and cultural attractions of the surrounding mountains is a must.
