| | This hotel was as beautifull as we expected it. We saw several pictures (tripadvisor) and the hotel met our expectation. We had a deluxe room very close to the beach. Nice room, with balcony and really big bathroom, but the twin beds were too small for 2 adults. Facilities, such as restaurant and swimming pool are really clean and nice. The breakfast buffet is just amazing.
The only negative point is the price of the drinks and the buffet at the restaurant (way too high compare to restaurant around). There are however enough restaurant around the hotel and a supermarket were the drinks prices were very cheap. Anyhow will experienced a great journey at Merlin and we will recommend it to our friends. |

| | Although the staff at this hotel are extremely obliging and friendly, and the hotel is in a lovely, quiet location, it really is only a middle of the road 4# hotel. Apart from the breakfast, which is great, the food in the hotel is mediocre. The main plus point is the large garden area adjacent to the beach. Plenty of loungers, and no noisy jetskis or power boats to disturb the peace! All said, a reasonable middle of the range beach hotel, but we do prefer the luxury of 5# establshments when in Thailand. By choosing the 4# Khao Lak Merlin, we got what we paid for, Next time we will go for 5 star luxury. |
